P5 at Georgian House

The P5 students visited Georgian House to learn about 18th Century Edinburgh. As part of the visit the students dressed up in 18th Century dress. The boys put on vests and cravats, and rolled up their pants to make breeches. The girls put on skirts, shawls called fichu, and hats called mob caps. The girls and boys dressed in separate rooms and then met up where they bowed and curtsied to each other.

OLD EDINBURGH WALK WITH MR. HOWIE

On Wednesday 26th of September we went to a wonderful trip around the lovely
sceneries of Old Edinburgh.
By Mr Howie getting some special keys we managed to enter a fascinating
graveyard, The Covenanters Prison.

We went in a grave and we thought there
were 5-11 ghosts  in there.

We listened to famous hangings and execution stories.
With the famous murderers, Burke and Hare, Burke¹s skin got chopped off and
made it into business card holder.
The trip was amazing.

 The 2 Steves

P5B have produced this article about their trip:

On Tuesday 21 of August P5 walked to the Book Festival. We came to watch two fabulous authors called Steve Skidmore and Steve Barlow. They explained to us their new book called The Action Dogs which is a story about some superhero dogs trying to defeat their enemy,Katmanchew and his evil cat minions. There are two books coming out in November and two books out now: Ocean of Peril and The Howling Inferno. Steve Skidmore and Steve Barlow had a magnificent game show. It was fabulous. The two Steves were awesome. Some P5s bought the book, Action Dogs. It was a wonderful trip. We rate it five star.
