P7C Music & Drama
After the BBC Ten Pieces experience Primary 7C looked at the Greig piece (In the Hall of the Mountain King) in a little more detail. They considered the effect of different instruments and of the dynamics of the music.
In groups they created a short scene that would fit in with the novel we are reading (Holes, by Louis Sachar) and filmed it. They then used Garageband (on their iPads) to create music that would accompany the video, doing their best to make the music convey the mood of the story. Finally they pulled the video and the music together in iMovie to produce the following videos:
Holes 2 from Mrs Barker on Vimeo.
My Movie from Mrs Barker on Vimeo.
So we are young and bosses from Mrs Barker on Vimeo.
My Movie from Mrs Barker on Vimeo.

Holes Group 3 from Mrs Barker on Vimeo.

P7C Ghosts of War Poetry Workshop
Trying on the uniform that a World War One soldier would have been issued with:
We made lots of notes, some about the war memorial, some about the WW1 clothing and some about a person who was described in the museum. We then used these notes to create our poems.
Many thanks to our workshop leaders, Lorna and Ken.
